Quinta da Marinha | History and Tradition

Quinta da Marinha was founded in the 20's, when Carlos Montez Champalimaud, a Portuguese military doctor with a French aristocratic ancestry, had a massive pine forest planted to stop the erosion of the local sand dunes. He hired architects Cocket and Burns who produced the first urban planning of "Marinha".

In 1976, the estate was divided into 4 properties. Marinha Guincho (25 he) being located in its highest point.
